PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A Philadelphia police officer is being fired, charged today with also being a heroin dealer.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, Officer Jonathan Garcia, 23,  was arrested and charged in federal court with four counts of distributing heroin and two counts of carrying a firearm during a drug crime.

Officials say the three-year veteran of the force sold heroin to an undercover FBI informant.

Police say Garcia, who was assigned to the 17th District in South Philadelphia, will be suspended for 30 days with an intent to terminate.
