PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Big shows are coming up at the Mann Center, which will be hosting the Philadelphia Orchestra. First, on June 27th, it’s Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.

“[It will be] Led by conductor Xian Zhang–making her debut–with soloists from the Academy of Vocal Arts, one of Philadelphia’s premiere cultural institutions, and of course, The Philadelphia Singers,” says Mann Center President and CEO Catherine Cahill.
And June 29th, it’s a summer tradition: The Tchaikovsky Spectacular, “complete with fireworks, and of course, the majestic 1812 Overture. We will also be showcasing one of the Curtis Institute of Music’s great legends of tomorrow, Alexander Ullman, in, of course, Tchaikovsky’s most beloved piano concerto, No. 1,” Cahill says.
