Officer, 90-Year-Old Woman Injured In Northeast Philadelphia Crash

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A police officer is in stable condition after his car was struck by another vehicle Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Longshore Avenue and Oxford Avenue, according to authorities.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. when the officer was traveling Eastbound on Longshore Avenue. Police say another vehicle ran a red light, then hit the front of the police car.

Authorities say the police officer was knocked unconscious. He was then taken to Albert Einstein Hospital where he reportedly regained consciousness and was able to move all his limbs.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 90-year-old woman, was taken to Jeanes Hospital. She was reportedly suffering from neck pain.
