Southbound Route 202 Reopens After Fatal Accident Causes 8-Hour Closure

WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) – A deadly accident closed a stretch of Route 202 in Chester County for eight hours Friday morning.

The accident happened at about 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 202 near the Route 30 bypass in West Whiteland Township.

According to investigators, a Volkswagen Passat and a box truck collided.

The 25-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 55-year-old driver of the box truck was taken to Paoli Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.

The identity of the deceased driver was not released.

All southbound Route 202 lanes reopened at about 9:15 a.m.
