Northeast Philly Troop Makes Hand Embroidered Flags

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support from Northeast Philadelphia demonstrated how to hand-embroider the presidential flag.

On June 12th the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support, also known as the "Flag Ladies," gave a demonstration on embroidering flags.

The DLA Troop Support is the only hand embroidery operation left in the U.S. and they have been making flags since the 1850's.

This organization provides America's armed forces with $14 billion worth of food, uniforms, medicine and medical supplies, protective equipment, repair parts, and construction and equipment yearly.
