PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia School District will be sending students home from class early today because of expected high heat and humidity. Parents and students are burning up over the issue.

Cookie and Stacey were sitting outside one of the outdoor cafes along Market Street with a few other people. Cookie believes students should stay in school.

"I think the kids should stay in there as long as there is air conditioning, because they need to learn something."

But her friend Stacey has a different opinion.

"If they don't have any air conditioning, they should go home. They have the right to go home and be comfortable in their own house. We have snow days off. Sometimes they take a whole week, don't they? So, why not one day? One day won't kill anybody."

Most people agreed with Stacy, saying it's only one day and it is the end of the school year.
