Police-Involved Shooting In Bucks County Under Investigation

SELLERSVILLE, Pa. (CBS) - A police-involved shooting that left a man dead and an officer injured in Bucks County is under investigation.

The shooting happened at about 4 p.m. Saturday near Clymer Avenue and Old State Road in Sellersville.

Perkasie Police were called out to a convenience store after receiving reports that a man was acting peculiar. Officers arrived to find the man nearby and say he was acting strange. The officers tried to convince the man to go to the hospital for treatment, but instead the man became violent and combative, striking and kicking one of the officers, said Sellersville Police Chief Joseph Gura.

The officer used his weapon and shot the man one time in the chest. He died as a result of his injuries.

The officer was taken to Grand View Hospital to be evaluated.

The Bucks County District Attorney's office is investigating.
