PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – After hammering a struggling Orlando team last week, the Philadelphia Soul take to the road Friday night to visit Milwaukee.
The 9-3 Soul will be looking for a third straight win and head coach Doug Plank says they also want to really build momentum as the postseason nears.
“There is no question that the Philadelphia Soul have to win these next few games and have momentum going into the playoffs. It’s just like every other sport, every team wants to feel that confidence and feel like they are going overcome whatever the odds are. So it’s important for us to really focus on these last few games and to win them, especially on the road.”
Philadelphia will also be looking for a bit of revenge in this one as the 4-7 Mustangs won the first match-up between these two teams in Philadelphia back on May 5th, 64-63. Plank says his team needs to avoid the mistakes that hurt them in the first match-up with the Mustangs.
“That first game we turned the ball over and gave up easy touchdowns on defense and our special teams didn’t necessarily play very well. This is a good football team in terms of x’s and o’s and they don’t beat themselves. So we need to come out and play with some intensity and eliminate the errors.”
Philadelphia currently enjoys a 2 1/2 game lead on second-place Cleveland in the Eastern Division race.
Philadelphia and Milwaukee will kick-off at 8:00pm.
