PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Pro-cyclists are gearing up for Sunday's big bike race.
People arriving at the Sheraton for the 28th Philadelphia International Championship seem to be checking out the competition.
"For the managers and those who are participating in their support were full of anxiety and nervousness."
Emotions are mixed before the race.
"Some are very calm; others have a lot of anxiety and they have a lot of questions."
This support staff member says it helps to have a routine.
"They go for a ride in the morning, they get the massages, meet with their team directors. They have a dinner, go to bed early, and implement everything they've been working on for the past months leading up to the race."
And riders say you have to be mentally prepared for this race or you'll get pushed around.
