UPDATE: Warminster Attempted Child Luring A 'Miscommunication'

WARMINSTER, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Warminster have reached out with a correction about Wednesday afternoon's supposed child luring. Police are now saying that the incident was merely a miscommunication and released a statement that says, in part:

The Warminster Township Police Department has identified the vehicle and individual involved in this incident. The police department has determined that this was a miscommunication between the driver of this vehicle and a family member who was walking home from school and was overheard by other students. As a result the police department believes there was no threat to the safety of any of the children involved in this matter. This matter is considered closed.

Earlier on Wednesday, a parent reported that two 7-year-old children were walking home from Longstreth Elementary School around 3:30 p.m. near Roberts Road and Muller Road when they were approached by a man driving a royal blue SUV. The suspect yelled to the children to ask them if they needed a ride, but the kids refused and ran to a parent who was close by and who reported the incident.
