PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man who may have attempted to open a false account on Tuesday afternoon might also be facing charges for assaulting a police officer.

Around 3:30 p.m., Philadelphia police officers responded to 901 Arch Street for reports of a theft in progress at the Police and Fire Federal Credit Union.

The suspect reportedly got into a scuffle with a police officer, and they both tumbled down some stairs.

Both the suspect and the officer were transported to Hahnemann University Hospital with minor injuries.

Charges against the suspect are pending.
