Police: Man Stabbed Sister, Friend In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man is in custody after police say he stabbed his sister and her male friend in Northeast Philadelphia early Friday morning.

The stabbing happened inside a home in the 1100 block of E. Cheltenham Avenue in the city's Summerdale neighborhood.

According to investigators, the unidentified suspect stabbed his 49-year-old sister and her 53-year-old male friend.

Both victims were taken to Aria Health's Torresdale Hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

The suspect was taken into police custody shortly after the stabbing. It was not immediately known what led up to the double stabbing.

The incident remains under police investigation.
