PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Phillies manager Charlie Manuel has been suspended for one game by Major League Baseball. The release from MLB states the following:
Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel has received a one-game suspension stemming from the on-field incident in the top of the eighth inning of Philadelphia’s Tuesday, May 15th game against the Houston Astros at Citizens Bank Park. Joe Garagiola, Jr., Senior Vice President of Standards & On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
Manuel’s suspension is to be served tonight, when the Phillies are to host the Boston Red Sox.
