Plenty Of Phillies Prospects At Double-A Reading

The Reading Phillies are still producing quality talent.

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies farm system has done a great job over the last several years of producing quality talent.

Whether it be guys that have contributed here in Philadelphia or players that have proven to be valuable chips in a trade to bring established talent to town, the Phillies continue to replenish the system.

This season, the Double-A Reading Phillies have been playing good baseball.  They are 23-15 and that’s good for a piece of first-place in the Eastern league’s East Division.

KYW’s Matt Leon spoke with Brian Seltzer, the radio voice of the R-Phils, to get his take on who’s hot at Double-A.

They also talk about LHP Jake Diekman, who had that great MLB debut Tuesday against the Astros.  Diekman spent the 2011 campaign at Reading.
