Delaware Police Searching For Suspect Who Robbed Two People Just Minutes Apart

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police are trying to identify a man who committed two robberies within five minutes of each other earlier this May.

The first incident happened on Thursday, May 3rd around 5:40 p.m. in the parking lot of Soul Food Restaurant, located on the 300 block of S DuPont Highway in New Castle. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, approached a 33-year-old Philadelphia man and demanded money. After receiving the money, the suspect then fled towards US Route 40 on a bike.

About five minutes later, the same suspect approached a 55-year-old female from Newark, Delaware in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart on Wilton Boulevard. The suspect showed his weapon and demanded the victim's purse as she was getting into her car. After receiving the purse, the suspect fled on the bike toward Wilton Boulevard.

Neither victim was injured during the robberies.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10"-6'0" tall, and between 30-35 years old. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and a baseball cap.
