HELLERTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - Residents were evacuated in Hellertown, Northampton County Saturday morning due to police activity.

Authorities from the Hellertown and Bethlehem police departments were called out to the 700 block of Front Street a little before 10 a.m. Seven buildings in the are were forced to evacuate.

At this time, it is not known why police are in the area, but a K-9 unit was requested and a staging area was set up at the Hellertown Borough Authority office.
