PENNS GROVE, NJ (CBS) – Penns Grove Middle School was on lockdown after parents told officials they thought they had seen a student carrying a gun or pellet gun to school.
The parent notified area crossing guards, who then told police.
The school, located on Maple Avenue, was briefly placed under lockdown while police investigated. One 14-year-old student was taken into custody after police found a paintball gun in his locker.
Parents were notified, and no students were injured.
