McNutt Hoping to Make Splash At Eagles Rookie Mini-Camp

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles are holding a rookie mini-camp this weekend as the coaching staff gets its first look at the 2012 draft class, as well as those undrafted rookie free agents.

One of the players getting his first taste of Philadelphia is wide receiver Marvin McNutt.

One of two sixth-round draft choices for the Eagles, McNutt caught 170 passes during his time at the University of Iowa and he holds the Hawkeyes record with 2,861 career receiving yards.

"It feels good to be here," McNutt tells KYW Newsradio. "It's a pleasure and honor to be drafted by the Eagles and I'm grateful to have this opportunity."

McNutt joins a very deep receiving core in Philadelphia.  One that already includes the likes of DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant.  He says is ready to do whatever it takes and line up wherever the team wants so he can contribute.

"Wherever I'm needed.  As a receiver you've got to be versatile and that's something I feel I am."

The St. Louis native talks about his goals for these next few days.

"I want to develop a good relationship with the coach staff as well as getting out here and getting my feet wet with the NFL."

This Eagles rookie mini-camp runs through Monday.
