PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A driver was hospitalized after a single-car crash in Northeast Philadelphia early Thursday morning.
The crash happened at about 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Cottman and Frankford Avenues in the city’s Mayfair section.
According to investigators, the driver of a SUV somehow lost control of his car and slammed into a traffic light pole, knocking down the pole.
The 22-year-old driver was taken to Aria Health’s Torresdale Hospital in an unknown condition.
Investigators blocked off the intersection as crews worked to restore power to the lights.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
