Bensalem Police: Philly Cop Found In Bucks County Motel With 14-Year-Old And Prostitute

By Brad Segall and Al Novack

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- A veteran of the Philadelphia Police force is behind bars in Bucks County, Pa., facing prostitution charges, after he was found in a Bensalem hotel room with a 21-year-old prostitute and a 14-year-old girl.

Police credit the teenager with texting family members to say she was being held against her will and an older man wanted to have sex with her.

Bensalem police found 36-year-old officer Anthony Dattilo inside a room at the Lincoln Motel along with a woman and the teenager early Wednesday morning.

Bensalem public safety director Fred Harran says they found the teen's story to be credible.

"This guy had paid for sex with the 21-year-old and then he was going to try to have sex with the 14-year-old.  We were able to get there in time that he did not complete the act, but he did commit aggravated indecent assault on her and other charges," Harran said today.

Philadelphia police say Dattilo is a seven-year veteran of the force working out of the 2nd District in Northeast Philadelphia.

He was arraigned late Thursday night and bail was set at $500,000.  Police say he will be suspended with intent to dismiss. His next court appearance is scheduled for next Thursday.
