Innocent Man Killed During Camden Restaurant Melee, 1 Injured

By Elizabeth Hur

CAMDEN (CBS) -- Fists and bullets fly and it's all caught on tape. Authorities are asking for the public's help to identify the gunman wanted in a deadly restaurant shooting.

Police say a 36-year-old Camden man was shot about 5 a.m. Friday at a Crown Fried Chicken on 200 block of South Broadway in Camden. Another man, a 22-year-old Camden man was shot and injured in the incident.

The surveillance video police released shows an altercation breaking out at the restaurant between the shooter, his friend and a group of other men. The fight turned violent and the shooter drew a firearm.

The man shot and killed, according to police, was sitting in a booth during the fight and was not involved. He and a woman with him were trying to escape the melee when he was struck by a stray round.

The shooter and his friend were observed fleeing the scene in a new model pickup truck.

Police say the shooter caught on tape was the man wearing a baseball cap and a gray jacket with black trim along his shoulders. It appears the altercation began between the shooter's friend and another man, but quickly spread.

The shooter and his friend can be seen leaving the restaurant after the shooting in the following video:
