Body Found At Truck Stop In New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS/AP) — State police are treating a homicide in New Castle as suspicious after they say a man was found dead in the parking lot of a truck stop.

Police say a passerby found the body around 9 a.m. Sunday in the northern parking lot of the Delaware Truck Plaza, just east of U.S. Route 13. Police later identified the victim as 56-year-old Ronald Hardy of New Castle. His body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.

Detectives are also trying to locate the victim's vehicle which was reported missing. The vehicle is described as a 1992 Ford Ranger, gold in color, Delaware Registration #CL71413. Police provided a photo of a similar vehicle.

If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of the victim's vehicle, or have observed or located the vehicle are asked to call 911 immediately.
