PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — People who have Labrador retrievers are more agreeable and conscientious, according to new research being presented at the British Psychological Society.

The research says that people and their dogs tend to have similar personality traits.

Here are some of the findings: herding dogs, like German shepherds, and their owners are more extroverted; hound dogs, greyhounds and beagles are more emotionally stable; and people who own Chihuahuas or other toy dogs are open to new experiences.
