Man Killed, Wife Injured In Kingsessing Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting late Tuesday night that left a man dead and his wife hospitalized.

The shooting happened at about 10 p.m. at 54th Street and Florence Avenue in the city’s Kingsessing section.

According to investigators, an unidentified man died after being shot multiple times. Authorities say his wife was shot in the leg. She is listed in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Investigators believe one, or even both of the victims, may have known the gunman.

So far, no arrests have been made and a motive in the deadly shooting remains under investigation.

The shooting death was Philadelphia’s 103rd murder so far in 2012.
