READING, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia woman has died after a freak highway accident involving a flying road sign.
The Berks County coroner’s office says 31-year-old Emily Morris died Monday afternoon, two days after she suffered head injuries in the freak accident.
Officials say a truck clipped the road sign on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, sending it into the air. The sign then crashed through Morris’ windshield.
The Norristown woman was the web editor for Montgomery Media, a Journal Register Company. She had also worked as a freelance reporter for the Lebanon Daily News.
