PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It’s been an incredible first three games for the Flyers and their fans.
Of course the Orange and Black hold a three games to none lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal playoff series after that 8-4 win Sunday in Game #3.
The Flyers have now scored 20 goals in the first three games of the set. Forward Claude Giroux is the leading scorer in the playoffs with eight points. How wide open has this series been? Of the top 14 point scorers in this year’s NHL playoffs thus far, 13 are playing in this Flyers/Penguins series.
The Flyers will be going for their first playoff sweep since 1995 (when they turned the trick against the Rangers in the conference semifinals) in Game #4 on Wednesday night at the Center.
KYW’s Matt Leon spoke with Flyers writer Dave Isaac about the first three games of this series, how surprising the Flyers stranglehold is and what to expect the rest of the series (however long it lasts).
