A warm air mass continues to build into the Delaware Valley and peak on Monday with high temperatures about 25 degrees above average. The average high temperature is 64 degrees but the warm-up started Saturday with highs surging into the low 70s. Today, many areas surged into the low 80s with Philadelphia recording a high of 82.
The warmth continues tomorrow as an area of high pressure situated off the East Coast will provide southwest winds along with plenty of sunshine. Highs will reach the upper 80s on Monday. Some records will be challenged tomorrow as the record for Philadelphia is 90, set in 2002. A cold front will slide through Monday night, bringing just some clouds. Highs on Tuesday will be cooler but still well above average in the upper 70s. The summer preview comes to an end on Wednesday as a cool high pressure system moves in from Canada. This will knock back highs into the upper 60s. Enjoy the summer temperatures while the humidity is still low.
