PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Mt. Airy bookstore hosts the region’s only book festival tailored just for children this weekend.

Ricardo Cortes drew himself into a phenomenon when he illustrated the satirical children’s book “Go the ‘F’ to Sleep.” The book was really for adults but proved so popular he and author Adam Mansbach have written a genuine children’s book, “Seriously, just go to sleep.” Cortes will be reading from it at the “Kids Literary Festival” at the Big Blue Marble book store.

“The illustrations are obviously based on the original and a lot of the book is really similar but on every page I wanted to add things in knowing that kids would actually be reading it.

Cortes is one of seven illustrators recruited for the festival by Erica Davis, the store’s events coordinator.
It’s nice for people to actually have that personal connection with people who’ve written things that just make them excited.

Also visiting is Frans Vischer who’s animated movies for Disney, Warner Brothers and Dreamworks and is the author-illustrator of this year’s One Book for kids. All events, both days, are free.
