Teen Bicyclist Struck By Hit-Run Driver In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene after striking a teen on a bike in Northeast Philadelphia late Tuesday night.

The hit and run happened at about 11 p.m. in the 4500 block of Tyson Avenue near Ditman Street in the city's Tacony section.

According to investigators, a 17-year-old was riding his bike near his home when he struck by a car. The driver then drove away from the scene.

The teen was taken to Aria Health's Torresdale Hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police say they are searching for a dark-colored car with front-end damage.

Anyone with information on the driver or their whereabouts is urged to call 911.
