PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police in South Philadelphia have arrested two suspects in connection with a string of tire slashings Sunday night along South 10th Street.

Philadelphia Police say that thanks to a person who witnessed the tire slashings in the 1600 block of South 10th Street and alerted police, two 21-year-old South Philadelphia men have been arrested.

Taken into custody and charged with criminal conspiracy and criminal mischief are Eugene Aversa, of the 2700 block of South 18th Street, and 21-year-old Julien Ortiz of the 2200 block of South Clarion Street.

Police do not believe these incidents are linked to other recent tire slashings in Northeast Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, and elsewhere (see related stories).

    Deport ‘em.

  • Tony Bell

Financial restitution by the perpetrators not their parents.

    Lets send a message.

  • PhillyRN

These charges should be FELONIES since the damage is past the felony level.

  • PhillyRN

    Post the mugshots please. Thanks

Hang them, or at least, the public stockade for a month. Imagine that. Public stockade.

31 days of eating, sleeping, defecating, while locked to a slab of wood in public. Guess we’d give them a stool to sit upon eight hours a day, but beyond that, they’d be standing, open to the elements, open to public ridicule.

    Hang ‘em high !

  • Tray

    Thrill not three..oops

  • Tray

Please ask what kind of three these yo yo’s got out of destroying the properties of others. In another country their hands would probably be chopped off for this kind of behavior. But I’m sure they’ll just get a “slap” on those hands with our justice system and be sent on their merry way back to their thug life.
