Taylor Swift’s Date For ACM Awards Hospitalized

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The New Jersey teen who is fighting cancer and scored a date with Taylor Swift to The Academy of Country Music Awards is back in the hospital and won’t make the show.

A Facebook post says 18-year-old Kevin McGuire was admitted to the hospital Friday night and can’t keep his date with Swift. It was not clear why McGuire was hospitalized.

A publicist for Swift did not immediately return a message. The Facebook posting says Swift “is just as depressed as all of us to miss out on this date.”

Swift asked the Somerdale, N.J., resident to Sunday’s ACMs after his sister started a campaign to get her to attend his prom. The reigning ACM entertainer of the year couldn’t make the prom, but offered the date instead.

Well, at least Taylor gave him a national Shout Out and he was able to see it. It turned out good for Kevin after all. I’m glad Kevin wasn’t in the hospital too long.

The same way the ‘Make A Wish’ foundation makes the dreams come true to all of the little children suffering from cancer who wants to go to Disney World. They wouldn’t be able to go otherwise. It could be their final wish come true. It works the same for Kevin.

I can’t even imagine how an awards ceremony or a celebrity would matter at this time to these parents and siblings.

  4. A Date To Remember says:

I’m hoping that she will go and visit him in the hospital since he can’t make the ACM Awards. It would be such a nice gesture and will lift his spirits. Feel better, Kevin. I’m Praying for you.
