PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philly Farm and Food Fest comes to the Pennsylvania Convention Center Annex (the new portion) this Sunday.
Marilyn Anthony, co-founder of the Philly Farm and Food Fest says this event will basically be a massive farmers market:
“There are over 100 exhibitors in the show and we’re anticipating a crowd of more than 1000 people.”
She says if you plan to attend, bring your appetite and a shopping bag:
“The organization I work for has as our first part of our mission economic viability. We want farmers to be able to make a living; and the best way to do that is to sell directly to customers.”
Event co-founder Ann Karlen says she’s thrilled that interest has come back to local, sustainable food:
“The interest in local is exploding. Marilyn and I have both been in this business for over 10 years. In the beginning it was fringe and now it’s becoming mainstream. It’s really exciting.”
