Philadelphia Ranks Among The World’s Best Cities For Parks

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The company behind some of the nation’s best-selling travel guides has just given Philadelphians a reason to be proud.

Frommer’s, the travel company originally known for guidebooks and now for a website that covers more than 3,500 travel destinations, has ranked Philadelphia among the 10 best cities in the world for parks. The article highlights the city’s 9,200 acres of parks, including spots like Wissahickon, Bartram’s Garden and Boathouse Row, and points out that roughly 10% of the city consists of green spaces.

And Philadelphia is in great company, too: Other cities on the Frommer’s list include London, Paris, Tokyo, San Francisco and Chicago.
