Michael, a very motivated 14-year-old, has big ambitions.
“I want to be a pediatrician,” he tells KYW’s Larry Kane. “I’m already studying the brain. I can tell you ‘cerebral cortex,’ I can tell you definitions of the brain.”
While his future may be in the operating room, he spends his free time in the kitchen.
“I love to cook: meat loaf, fish, chicken alfredo,” he ticks off quickly.
(Kane:) “What’s your favorite?”
(Michael:) “Spaghetti.”
(Kane:) “So, do you like the food the you make, or would you rather eat out?”
(Michael:) “I’d rather cook my own food.”
His social worker, Donna Davis, says Michael is very driven but he needs the support of a loving, permanent family.
“He’s very directed,” she tells KYW Newsradio. “He knows what he wants. And what he needs is a family, to really help direct him and support him in these areas.”
For more information about adopting Michael or any other child, go to the National Adoption Center’s web site, www.adopt.org, or call 215-735-9988.
