Former Bensalem Fire Official Surrenders To Face Fraud Charges

By Brad Segall

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- Bensalem police say former Union Fire Company deputy chief David Jerri Jr. has turned himself in to face insurance fraud and theft charges.

Police issued an arrest warrant for the 27-year-old Croyden man alleging he filed a false claim to collect workers' compensation.

Police say he claimed he hurt his hand battling a fire last September, but they say their investigation shows otherwise (see previous story).

Police say he collected nearly seven thousand dollars before the benefits were terminated.
