PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Today is the first day of spring, bringing an end to a winter that didn’t pack much of a punch. It’s felt like spring most of the year, so does anyone miss the cold and snow?

“Not at all, I don’t mind the cold, not a fan of the snow. It’s been pretty good not to break out the shovels too much.”

“I thought it was great, kept the gas bill down, so it was a good winter.”

And many people say this is their favorite time of year: “I like seeing the flowers, the annuals coming out. You know, that’s my favorite part.”

Not everyone agrees. West Philly High senior Xavier is one of them, “No snow days. Can you believe that? That’s crazy.”

Either way, people say with record temperatures in the forecast this week, they’re definitely going to take advantage of it, though Xavier says it won’t be easy to sit in class.

“It’s really killing me, we get out at 4:00, and it’s going to be nice.”
