Tires Found Slashed In Tacony Neighborhood

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Three cars were found vandalized Sunday morning in Tacony, a neighborhood near Mayfair which has been targeted by vandals in recent months.

Tires were slashed on three vehicles parked along the 7100 block of Erdrick Street, according to Philadelphia police.

In earlier weeks, in nearby Mayfair, one resident had all four tires taken off and stolen. In early February, vandals slashed tires and spray painted graffiti on dozens of cars throughout the neighborhood.

Last month, more than 30 car owners in Mayfair reported to police they found their tires slashed, two dozen others found graffiti spray painted on their cars.

Residents have since been working with police to identify the culprits. At this time, no suspects in either incidents have been named.

You do not know that, anyone can come up with a conspiracy theory, where is your proof?

I doubt if 2 or 3 inner city, sideways kiddie cap wearing, pants falling off punks are in collusion with any neighborhood tire concerns.

Conspiracy theories are just that. Where’s the beef???

I agree with both of you, Francis and Anthony. This is insanely suspicious that this has happened at least 4 times.

I cannot believe the victime of these slashings haven’t put more pressure on their elected officials in the district. Surely there must be a remedy you overlooked up there. As an old Fairmounter, this would have never happened twice, let alone all these times. Follow the cops around and see what they are doing, and check the restaurants. Go over to your State Rep. today and pound on his desk, if he is there.

This is easy…the people who are slashing the tires are doing it for business…they are going to different neighborhoods pretty much in the same area because at least some of the people have to come to their shops or call them to get their tires repaired/replaced…I will also bet that there are maybe a couple of tire places conspiring together…somebody is getting paid and they are doing at the expense of making people think it’s pure vadalism…these people do the same thing with hub caps…they send someone out to steal them and then u have to go to these places to find a match for what has been stolen…did anybody even think of this yet…?
