PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — C’mon, admit it: just about everyone growing up has pretended to be a rock star while imagining throngs of adoring fans cheering them on.
Now, one new local company is busy booking “rock star” parties for adults, who will finally get their chance to get up on stage and sing.
Adam Bailine owns Groove, a King of Prussia-based company that offers “rock star” parties as well as recording studio rentals. Bailine says they book many children’s parties, but he was surprised by how many adults also love the opportunity to “strike a pose.”
“I had a couple of 40-year-old surprise parties with women. Those are probably some of the coolest and craziest parties I’ve personally ever been to. We get a lot of requests for early mid-80s dance songs, a lot of Madonna, and then yet on the other hand, it was a completely more modern extreme, with a lot of Lady Gaga, wearing our wardrobe we have here,” Bailine explains.
Men prefer classic rock hits, and the kids—well, Bailine says you are into Kesha and Maroon Five.
