Driver Arrested For DUI After Hit-And-Run Accident In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – One person was injured in a hit and run accident in Philadelphia on Saturday morning.

At approximately 6:55 a.m., a 2000 Suzuki Esteem traveling eastbound on Diamond Street struck a 22-year-old bicyclist at the intersection of 30th and Diamond Streets. The male victim was thrown to the ground, and a witness called 9-1-1.

Police say the driver of the car, Lanaye Jones, a 24-year-old female from Philadelphia, tried to flee the scene but was captured and arrested at 19th and Dauphin Streets shortly thereafter. Jones is now facing charges of DUI.

The victim was transported to Temple Hospital in stable condition.
