PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – C. Trachomatis causes one of the most prevalent sexually transmitted infections worldwide, as well as infections of the eye that are a leading infectious cause of blindness.

Chlamydia is a major problem among sexually active young adults. Any reasearch we can do can have a great effect if it can help reduce the aggressiveness of this pathogen. Researchers have been studying the structure of chlamydia since 1959 to see if it has changed or what makes it more aggressive.
