HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Police and a passer-by rescued two people from a fiery crash in southern New Jersey.
Hamilton Township police say 21-year-old Walter Harris and 18-year-old Hallie Thompson were trapped after their car crashed into a tree and burst into flames on Almond Street Thursday night. A tree then fell on the car’s roof.
Police say two officers and a citizen pulled the pair to safety.
Both were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The accident is under investigation.
