PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - At least 700 residents in Philadelphia’s Tacony neighborhood were without power Saturday night, according to a spokesperson at PECO.
At about 6:30 p.m. residents reported hearing a loud explosion in the area. Initial police reports indicated that there was a transformer fire at the PECO substation in on State Road near Elbridge Street, but crews discovered that it was an equipment malfunction and the problem was quickly resolved.
Power was restored to all customers around 8 p.m.
