Bristol Township Man Faces Possible Homicide Charges In Death Of 18-Month-Old Girl

By Brad Segall

BENSALEM, Pa (CBS) -- Prosecutors in Bucks County are expected to decide next week whether a Bristol Township man will face homicide charges now that his girlfriend's 18-month-old daughter has died after being injured while in his care in late February.

Bensalem police say Adrian Allen was babysitting his girlfriend Nakia Adams' three children in their Knights Road apartment while she was out of town for the weekend.

When Adams returned, she found the toddler unresponsive in her crib and rushed her to the hospital where she was being treated for severe head injuries.

After a police investigation, the 27-year-old Allen was charged with first degree aggravated assault and related offenses.

He's being held on a million dollars bail.

Prosecutors say an autopsy on the child will take place this weekend, and after reviewing the results they will decide whether further charges will be filed against Allen.

Police did not release any information about the circumstances surrounding the child's death.
