PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There was a time when women were warned not to exercise during pregnancy but, over the years, we have learned that exercise is great during pregnancy for most women – especially if they continue exercising in a way similar to the way they always did prior to becoming pregnant.
It is essential to get your doctor’s approval but the potential benefits of exercising during pregnancy include: feeling better in general and helping to reduce common complaints such as backache and stress. It is important to continue strengthening your muscles and body to prepare for childbirth.
Another advantage is helping to avoid putting on excessive amounts of weight.
