
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A tractor trailer overturned on a Berks County highway Wednesday morning, sending the driver to the hospital.
The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Route 422 near Riverbridge Road. The driver was traveling west on Rt 422 when the tractor trailer lost control and went down a 25-foot embankment.
The accident shut down the westbound right lane which remains closed as of 8 a.m. as HAZMAT crews work to clean up a fuel spill as a result of the crash.
The driver was flown to The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. His condition is not known at this time.
Police are investigating.
