Jury Selection Delayed In Philadelphia Priest Sex Abuse Trial

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jury selection has been delayed at least a day in the landmark priest sex-abuse trial of a longtime Roman Catholic church official in Philadelphia.

Monsignor William Lynn is the first U.S. church official charged for allegedly keeping accused priests in ministry.

The 61-year-old Lynn is scheduled for trial with the Rev. James Brennan and former priest Edward Avery, both charged with rape.

Jury selection may take several weeks. Lynn was in court with his lawyers Tuesday, when the court delayed the start of jury selection without explanation.
They are due back in court Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Lynn knew about secret files at the archdiocese that held child sex-assault complaints lodged against dozens of priests.

Lynn’s lawyers say he took orders from the late Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua from 1992 to 2003.

I did comment, but true to form, KYW removes and stifles the broader commuity.
Horrific abuses in the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim communities go unreported by KYW. Only the Catholics are branded with this.
I ask why KYW reports on this and a teachers in California who had “lewd” contact with little children,
But, just an hour north, in Brooklyn, where Andrew Goodman, among a host of rabbis, have raped and abused little boys, KWY deems this not newsworthy, despite its suggestion of fairness. Goodman was know as a child molester among the insular Jewish community since 2006, according to a rabbi. But the DA and the media is accommodates this and tolerates this among Jews. There is nothing of what the Muslims do, since KYW is afraid of violent retaliation by more extreme members of the faith.
KYW, Jewish and Muslim children should have the same rights and protection as Catholic children.
KYW, stop being a coward, discolse, face, and renouce your hatred of and bias agaist the Catholic Church and its people. Act as a force to serve and protect all children, regardless of their faith and the wealth and power and influence of their abusers.
