Juniata Shooting Under Investigation

By Mark Abrams

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -Philadelphia police are hunting for two men they say forced their way into a Juniata Park home on Tuesday morning, then shot and killed -- execution-style -- a man who lived there.

Police say it happened at a home in the 3900 block of Palmetto Street shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police were called to a report of a home-invasion and gunshots in an alley behind the home.

Responding officers found the body of a man in his mid-40s in an alley. They say his hands were tied and he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim's pregnant wife was injured during a struggle in the home, but the couple's toddler escaped injury.

Witnesses say two African-American males were seen driving away at a high rate of speed from the alley in a white car.

A handgun and four spent shells were recovered by investigators.

Police also say there was a surveillance camera in the alley, and they're trying to see whether that camera captured the murder.
