SEPTA Police Officer Injured In South Philadelphia Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A SEPTA police officer escaped serious injury when a car crashed into the officer's patrol vehicle in South Philadelphia Monday.

Authorities say the accident happened at about 2:30 a.m. when the driver of a red Pontiac made a left turn and crashed into the SEPTA cruiser at Broad and Mifflin Streets.

The unidentified officer was taken to Jefferson University Hospital with minor injuries. The other driver was not injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
