Delaware Police Officer Injured In Crash

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) — Police in New Castle County say a police officer was injured when her cruiser collided with a car whose driver was allegedly making an illegal U-turn.

Authorities say the female officer was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries after the crash happened Saturday morning in New Castle. She was later released.

Police said the driver of the other vehicle, 78-year-old Wilmington resident William Cheseroni, was not injured and refused medical treatment. He was cited for making the illegal turn.
