MALVERN, Pa. (CBS) - Walk into a bakery these days, and you might wince at the cost of a gourmet cupcake. But what would you say to one with a price tag of $55,000?

Granted, the sparkling red velvet cupcake does come with one heck of an accessory – an 8 karat diamond ring.

Cupcakes Gourmet in Malvern teamed up with Warwick’s Jewelers in Exton to offer this indulgent delicacy, perfect for a well heeled gent, hoping to pop a certain question this Valentine’s Day.

“We wanted to do a statement piece, that when people see it they would say ‘Wow, I can’t believe this is a $55,000 beautiful ring,” said Brittany Burkland, marketing manager of Warwick Jewelers.

Of course, your sweetheart won’t know the price. She’ll be too busy licking the frosting from her newly adorned fingers.

Um, I would think the cupcake AND the ring would be a little prettier for that price……

I bet the ring and the cup cake would be good enough for most, if they were to receive it as a gift.
